EP72 | TRON 3

Greetings, Programs. Now booting up the SequelQuest podcast for your listening pleasure. In 1982 the world was not ready for the expedition into the computer world of Tron with Jeff Bridges, but flash forward nearly 30 years later to Tron: Legacy in 2010 and the digital landscape of our world made The Grid feel like another day at the office.

The visual spectacle of the Tron movies brought cutting edge computer graphics into the cinematic landscape in an unforgettable way with light cycles races, Solar Sailor rides and the Master Control Program. Unfortunately the Tron train seems to be stuck at the station as the Walt Disney Company focuses more on their Marvel and Star Wars properties.

But what about the many characters, designs and philosophical concepts of The Grid? Have no fear, SequelQuest is ready to continue the story of Kevin Flynn with our pitches for Tron 3. Along with our guest host, Michael Cannetti entering the games, Adam, Jeff and Jeramy get deep into the history and future that is possible for a third Tron film.

You are now ready to listen to the SequelQuest podcast. End of Line.

EP71 | Supernatural Sequel Special

Oooooo, it’s getting spooky around the SequelQuest studios. That’s right this week we’re bringing you not 1, not 2, but 3 imaginary sequels to spooky films in our Supernatural Sequels Special! What started out as a free for all episode turned into a creepy podcast adventure you won’t want to miss.

Guillermo Del Toro just won his first Oscar for The Shape of Water, so imagine if he returned to the world of his first Spanish language thriller, El Diablo En Fuego with his frequent collaborator, Doug Jones reprising his role as the devil?

How about the infamous flop Curse of Mary returning the big screen as a dark comedy where the undead crew of the Mary Celeste find wacky ways to bring each new captain of the mysterious ghost ship down to a watery grave with hilarious results?

You’ll also hear how a sequel to late night TV mainstay The Slayings As Salem reunites Jeramy Irons and Donald Sutherland for more dark witchcraft adventure through a modern day tale of revenge shrouded in the robes of a vengeful wraith.

Stay until the end for a special announcement that will make the whole episode worth the wait, that is, if you’re not too busy shivering with terror.

EP70 | Oscars Recap & Best Picture Sequel Pitches

The 90th Academy Awards was an emotional night of celebration with many of our favorite filmmakers and actors receiving an Oscar statue to place on their mantels. The SequelQuest crew specializes in imaginary cinema, but we couldn't help but get together to share our feelings about the year's best pictures and delve into Oscar history.

In this podcast special you'll hear us dig deep into the social importance of films such as Get Out and The Shape of Water with our special guest, Judy who also provides some exclusive backstage details about the infamous 2017 Best Picture Oscar snafu.

In the latter half of the episode we dig into Oscar's 90 year history, pitching our sincere and sometimes outrageous ideas for sequels to Academy Award winning films like Dances With Wolves, An American In Paris, Kramer vs. Kramer and Forrest Gump.

We hope you enjoy the show and want you to know that just for being here you win the award for best podcast listener in our book!

EP69 | Sequel to Three Amigos | SequelQuest

March 1, 2018

EP69 | Sequel to Three Amigos

In 1986 the comedic talents of Steve Martin, Chevy Chase and Martin Short were combined by John Landis to bring the goofball humor of the Three Amigos to the big screen! While movie going audiences of the 80s weren't mounting their horses to see it in theaters, endless broadcasts of the film on TV led to its place a comedy comfort food. Still, we never got a Three Amigos sequel.

More than 30 years later the SequelQuest crew wondered whatever happened to Lucky Day, Dusty Bottoms and Ned "Little Neddy" Nederlander after defeating the INFAMOUS, El Guapo in the sleepy, Mexican village of Santa Poco. So we donned our sombreros, strapped on our holsters and jabbered away on a podcast like the singing bush to bring you our ideas for Three Amigos 2!

Joined by Jeff's sister, Kelly (and possibly the invisible swordsman) the Three Podcasters aka Adam, Jeff and Jeramy have created a mind-bending meta follow-up that reunites these comedy legends for an adventure that will have you laughing like a scum sucking pig or the son of a motherless goat.

EP67 | Valentine’s Special: Scott Pilgrim Sequel | SequelQuest

February 14, 2018

EP67 | Valentine's Special: Scott Pilgrim Sequel

Scott Pilgrim vs The World somehow missed the mark in 2010, despite an extremely talented cast of up and comers like Chris Evans, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Aubrey Plaza, Brie Larson and Brandon Routh. But thanks to the flashy style of director Edgar Wright, the film has become a cult classic that deserves a press of the reset button in the mind of movie fans.

That's why the SequelQuest crew decided to plug in our controllers and push play on a Scott Pilgrim sequel in our latest episode. With returning guests Emily and Christin, we laugh our way through wild video game adventures that send Scott and Ramona into the wild world of adulthood, one wacky ghost-busting excursion and even giving Knives Chau her own team of super-friends to save Toronto.

There may not be 7 Evil-Exes this time around, but we got 5 awesome pitches to peak your interest for a Scott Pilgrim 2! So drop in a few quarters and get ready for the fun of this week's SequelQuest!

EP66 | A Flash Gordon Sequel | SequelQuest

February 1, 2018

EP66 | A Flash Gordon Sequel

Flash (Ah-Ahhh!) Gordon hit theaters in 1980 to little fanfare, but is most remembered for the awesome soundtrack by rock group, Queen. Outlandish costumes and a wacky performances from cast members like Sam J. Jones, Brian Blessed and Max Von Sydow have made the movie a cult classic among fans of so bad it's good cinema over the years . And despite a comedic return appearance in Seth McFarlane's Ted movies, we still haven't gotten a follow-up film.

Only the SequelQuest crew of Adam, Jeff and Jeramy, along with our mighty guest host Carlin Trammel of the Nerd Lunch podcast (http://nerdlunch.net/podcast/) are brave enough to attempt a return to Mongo for an exploration of whether or not, "Gordon's Alive" and where his adventures have taken him.

This energetic conversation deals not only in hypothetical plot scenarios, but also the history of Flash Gordon in animation and ideas for fast food tie-in promotions and toys that should have existed in the 80's. Plus, you won't want to miss our special intro theme that kicks the show off into a new universe. Listen now and find out who becomes king of the impossible!

EP65 | A Most Excellent Bill & Ted’s 3 | SequelQuest

January 18, 2018

EP65| A Most Excellent Bill & Ted's 3

It's been 30 years since 2 dudes from San Dimas partied with a gang of historical dudes in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. Just a few years later Wyld Stallyns teamed up with the Grim Reaper to fight evil robots and the minions of Hell in Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey. But we haven't heard anything from Rufus or The Great Ones in decades, what gives?

That's why the SequelQuest crew decided it was time to complete this most triumphant trilogy by pitching our ideas for Bill and Ted 3! But Jeff, Jeramy and Adam are most definitely not alone, joining us for this podcast adventure is the bodacious, Anne Brashier.

A writer/director/performer in Los Angeles, Anne brings with her a unique attitude on what the next installment of the Bill and Ted franchise should be based on her time collaborating with The Groundlings, Upright Citizens Brigade and even live events for ScreenJunkies.net at ComicCon. She even dishes a bit on her plans for a Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure musical.

So join us as we surf the circuits of time, cramming all sorts of crazy ideas into the phone booth in an attempt to bring the laughs, loud and hard. Also, find out what Danny Pudi, Donald Glover and Jim Gaffigan have to do with our crazy Bill and Ted 3 movie ideas on the latest episode of SequelQuest.

EP64 | A Third Burton Batman Movie | SequelQuest

January 3, 2018

EP64 | Tim Burton redefined Batman for a generation with his 1989 summer blockbuster adventure starring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson. 3 years later Keaton and Burton were back with the bizarre Batman Returns, a dark fairy tale that was controversial for its time, leading to the imaginative filmmaker abandoning plans for a Batman 3.

In Burton’s absence, Joel Schumacher gave us Batman Forever in 1995 and the less said about Batman & Robin the better. But what if Burton had been able to complete his trilogy? It’s a question many have wondered about and now SequelQuest is ready to provide some answers by travelling to an alternate Summer 1995 where Tim Burton’s Batman 3 took theaters by storm.

Join Adam, Jeff, Jeramy and returning guest host, Michael Cannetti as they present exciting ideas for the continuing adventures of the caped crusader on the big screen.

Imagine Batman finally facing Billy Dee Williams as Two-Face, the return of Christopher Reeve for a team up between cinema’s mightiest heroes, Catwoman bringing Batgirl along for the ride and even a modern day Tim Burton and Michael Keaton coming back for a live action Batman Beyond film.

SequelQuest has got our turbines to speed to revive Bat-Mania in a big way, so follow the bat-signal and join the fun!
